The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization dedicated to works of charity for the poor and needy. SVdP is an international organization; our Resurrection Conference has been in operation since 1995. Members of SVdP are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We serve the poor and needy in the Sunnyvale, California area.

St Vincent de Paul Corner - Week of Sept 27
Vincent Himself. St Vincent de Paul (b. 1581 in rural
France, d.1660 in Paris), our Society's "patron," was the
founder of the Congregation of the Mission, Daughters of
Charity, Confraternities of Charity, and Ladies of
Charity. A man of deep faith, keen intellect, and
enormous creativity, he has become known as the
“The Apostle of Charity” and “Father of the Poor.” His contribu-
tions to the training of priests and organizing parish missions
and other services for the poor shaped the Church’s role in the
modern world. His feast day is usually celebrated on Sept. 27.
Monthly Meeting: One way to find out more about our Society
is to attend a monthly meeting. We will meet on Thursday
evening Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the youth room at Farana Center. If
you are interested, please come on Thursday, at least for the
first part of the meeting.
